Annual International Ground Innovation Conference (IGIC 2027)

About the event
New dates: the organiser has moved the third Annual International Ground Innovation Conference (IGIC) to 22 and 23 March 2027 at the Fairmont Riyadh, with a workshop on 21 March, after it was set for 9 and 10 November 2026 and, before that, 14 and 15 October 2026. It runs under the theme “Engineering the Ground Beneath MENA’s Mega Projects” and carries 18 CPD points across its two days.
The conference addresses what ground conditions impose on infrastructure, urban development, mining and giga-projects in the Kingdom and the wider region — hard rock, karst and sabkha soils, groundwater, geohazards, tunnelling and mining works — and how these bear on project cost, schedule and safety. It is aimed at project owners, geotechnical contractors, consultants, technology and machinery providers, government bodies and academia. Two workshops run alongside it, PLAXIS 3D for Pile and Piled-Raft Foundations and De-Risking the Mine, and accepted papers are published in the Journal of Geotechnical Innovation.
Attendance is by paid registration: USD 25 for the primary delegate from government authorities, academia, consultants, main contractors and developers; USD 999 for the vendor delegate; and USD 999 for the workshops. Registration is through the conference website.
