Vassilis Marinos

President

Vassilis Marinos is President of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) and Associate Professor of Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics at the National Technical University of Athens, School of Civil Engineering. With 25 years of experience he has worked as consultant and team member on numerous highway projects, tunnelling, rockfall and landslide analysis, geohazards associated with natural gas pipelines, the design of engineering structures in rock, and the use of 3D point clouds from LiDAR and UAVs for rock mass structural analysis and stability monitoring. He has 15 years of academic experience at NTUA and AUTH in Greece.
