Monique Wainstein

Associate Director – Rock Mechanics

Monique Wainstein is an Associate Director in Ground Engineering at WSP with more than 24 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specialising in rock mechanics for both mining and civil infrastructure projects. She has extensive experience in hard rock mining, having worked on underground and open-pit operations across gold, platinum, coal and iron ore mines throughout Southern Africa. Her expertise spans geotechnical investigations, slope stability assessments, open-pit cutback and highwall design, and the planning and design of underground mining infrastructure including ventilation shafts, declines and bord-and-pillar operations.
