Annual International Geotechnical Innovation Conference (IGIC 2026)
About the event
The third Annual International Geotechnical Innovation Conference takes place on 14 and 15 October 2026 at the Fairmont Riyadh, under the theme “Engineering the Ground Beneath MENA’s Mega Projects”, and carries 18 CPD points across its two days.
The conference addresses what ground conditions impose on infrastructure, urban development, mining and giga-projects in the Kingdom and the wider region — hard rock, karst and sabkha soils, groundwater, geohazards, tunnelling and mining works — and how these bear on project cost, schedule and safety. It is aimed at project owners, geotechnical contractors, consultants, technology and machinery providers, government bodies and academia. Two workshops run alongside it, PLAXIS 3D for Pile and Piled-Raft Foundations and De-Risking the Mine, and accepted papers are published in the Journal of Geotechnical Innovation.
Attendance is by paid registration: USD 25 for the primary delegate from government authorities, academia, consultants, main contractors and developers; USD 999 for the vendor delegate; and USD 999 for the workshops. Registration is through the conference website.
