Special Education, Learning Disabilities
Paige C. Pullen, Ph.D., is a literacy scientist working at the intersection of literacy, learning disabilities, and special education. She is Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer of Mindset CoPilot, an AI-native education technology company, and President of Pullen Education Strategies. She serves as Editor of Exceptionality: A Special Education Journal. Dr. Pullen is a longtime co-author, with Daniel P. Hallahan and James M. Kauffman, of Exceptional Learners: An Introduction to Special Education, translated into multiple languages and used in teacher preparation programs internationally. Her new book, The Canon of Literacy, articulates her Three Sciences Framework, integrating learning science, instructional science, and literacy science. She has trained more than 40,000 educators, led statewide literacy implementation in Florida and Georgia, and worked internationally. Her work is grounded in the conviction that every child can learn to read when instruction honors both the science of learning and the science of reading.
