King Salman Center for Disability Research

The King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR) is a Riyadh-based Saudi research center founded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz; the idea originated over thirty years ago with H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, then Chairman of the Children with Disabilities Association, and the Center's establishment was approved by the (then) Ministry of Social Affairs on 24/01/1412H. Prince Sultan bin Salman chairs its Board of Trustees. The Center applies best scientific practices on a documented research base, prepares programs aimed at addressing disability, identifying its causes and enabling early detection and intervention, and uses research outputs for planning and evaluation in prevention, care and rehabilitation. Its vision is "Global leadership in tackling disability through research and empowerment." Its official site reports 728 completed research projects, 6 conferences and 11 awards, and its initiatives include the International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation (ICDR), the King Salman International Award for Disability Research (KSADR) and the AI Hackathon for People with Disabilities.
