Special Education – Developmental Disabilities and Early Intervention

Dr. Al-Tamimi is an academic specialist in early intervention for developmental disabilities. He is a faculty member at King Saud University and holds both master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Northern Colorado in the United States. He also served as a visiting professor at Swansea University in the United Kingdom, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in early intervention. Dr. Al-Tamimi began his professional career at King Saud University, where he held several leadership positions, including Advisor to the University President, Secretary of the Council of Deans, Official Spokesperson of the University, General Supervisor of the University President's Office, and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Al-Farabi Private Colleges. He later moved to the non-governmental sector, serving as Chief Executive Officer of Muwakaba Investment Company, Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, and Chief Executive Officer of the Children with Disabilities Association, one of the Kingdom's largest specialized organizations, with assets exceeding SAR 3 billion. Dr. Al-Tamimi led a comprehensive restructuring of the organization by overseeing the development of its 2019 strategic plan. The plan resulted in a significant expansion of services, including the establishment of ten schools for persons with disabilities, ten support service centers in partnership with the Ministry of Education, three adult rehabilitation centers, and several assessment and diagnostic centers serving government entities through operating contracts. Today, as a result of these restructuring and development efforts, the organization oversees more than 48 facilities dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and manages government contracts valued at over SAR 80 million, reflecting a clear developmental impact on the quality of services provided to this community.
