Erika de Carvalho Rodrigues, PT, MSc, PhD, is Scientific Manager and a researcher at the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (IDOR) in Rio de Janeiro, where she is also permanent faculty in the Graduate Program in Medical Sciences. She earned her MSc and PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and conducted doctoral research at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives, CNRS, France. She completed postdoctoral training at IDOR and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, USA. Her research focuses on motor control, neuroplasticity, neuromodulation, neuroimaging, and rehabilitation after neurological injury. She leads multidisciplinary projects supported by Brazil's Ministry of Health, CNPq, and FAPERJ. She received FAPERJ's Young Scientist of Our State Award (2018–2024) and Scientist of Our State Award (2025–present). She is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Rio de Janeiro Military Police, where she coordinates health education.
