Shadi A. Dayeh, Ph.D., is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC San Diego. His work centers on translational neurotechnologies for the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerve, including ultra-dense human-grade neural interfaces, wireless epilepsy monitoring systems, and real-time brain-surface visualization platforms. Dayeh's team achieved FDA IDE approval for a 1,024-channel intraoperative PtNRGrid platform used in more than 100 patients across three centers, and advanced a fully wireless 4,096-recording/256-stimulation-channel system for epilepsy monitoring. He also serves as Neurotechnology Architect for ARPA-H's THEA program on optic-nerve regeneration and decoding. His honors include the NIH Director's New Innovator Award, NSF CAREER Award, and the 2026 North America Neuromodulation Society Innovator Award.
