Sakhar Alkhereyf is a Technical Expert in AI Research at HUMAIN, the Saudi artificial intelligence company backed by the Public Investment Fund. He holds a PhD in computer science from Columbia University and is an assistant research professor at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), where he heads the Human Language Technologies research group. His research focuses on Arabic natural language processing, including morphologically annotated corpora covering seven Arabic dialects and an Arabic newspaper corpus built during the COVID-19 period. He has contributed to HUMAIN's applied generative AI research, including work on detecting and correcting hallucinations in large language model outputs related to Quranic and Hadith texts, and has served on the organising committee of the International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING).
