Jason Rubin

Co-founder of Naughty Dog; VP Metaverse Experience

Jason Rubin serves as Vice President of Metaverse Content at Meta Platforms. He leads the global team responsible for building and supporting content on Meta Quest headsets, including internal development studios and publishing games and applications from external developers within the Reality Labs division. He began his career in the gaming industry over 35 years ago. He co-founded Naughty Dog studio in 1986 with his childhood friend Andy Gavin. He produced the Crash Bandicoot series, which sold over 26 million copies and was used by Sony as an unofficial mascot for the PlayStation platform. He later produced the Jak and Daxter series, which achieved nine million copies sold, before Sony acquired Naughty Dog in 2001. He was appointed President of THQ Publishing in 2012, where he managed development, marketing, and publishing operations globally. He founded the media company Flektor, which was acquired by Fox Interactive and MySpace. He joined Facebook in 2014 as Head of Oculus Studios and led the first wave of virtual reality content for Oculus headsets. He is considered one of the most prominent figures in the history of the video game industry, possessing a unique expertise that combines creative development, content management, and innovation in virtual and augmented reality technologies. He has delivered impactful keynotes at the D.I.C.E. Summit, advocating for the rights of creative developers in the gaming industry. He is participating in LEAP 2026 to share his vision on the future of immersive content and the metaverse, areas that align with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s growing investments in the gaming and digital entertainment industry.
