Amit Jain is the Co-founder and CEO of Luma AI, a leading company in visual intelligence and generative AI-powered video models. He founded the company in 2021 with the goal of building multimodal AI capable of understanding and generating the visual world with unprecedented accuracy. The company develops foundational models for video and 3D computer vision, serving creators, filmmakers, and developers. He began his career at Apple, where he worked as a systems and machine learning engineer for several years. He led the development of the Passthrough feature for the Apple Vision Pro headset and previously oversaw the integration of the first LIDAR sensors into the iPhone. This experience at one of the world's largest technology companies gave him deep expertise in 3D computer vision, cameras, complex systems engineering, and applied machine learning. He launched the Ray 3 model, which he described as the first generative video model with visual reasoning capabilities. He opened a specialized AI lab in Los Angeles to help filmmakers and creators integrate AI into their cinematic and creative productions. The company collaborates with a large number of directors and artists to explore the possibilities of AI-generated video in visual content production. He is known for presenting a bold vision for the future of visual content and cinematic production, believing that AI will fundamentally transform the creative production industry. He focuses on building models that understand physics, motion, depth, and lighting in a way that mimics natural human perception of the visual world around us. He will participate in LEAP 2026 to present his vision for the future of visual AI and generative video, fields of increasing strategic importance to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amid its massive investments in the content, entertainment, and AI industries under Vision 2030.
