Caroline Faraj is Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of the Arabic edition of CNN, based in Dubai, with more than 30 years of journalism experience. She joined CNN in 2001 and launched CNN Arabic in 2002, running it through a period of regional upheaval that included the invasion of Iraq, the Arab Spring and the rise of ISIS, after previously working as senior political correspondent at Jordan's Al Rai newspaper, editor-in-chief of the Jordan Times, and regional correspondent for the American publication Defense News, and presenting Jordan's first live morning talk show, Youm Jadeed. She was the first woman to graduate from Yarmouk University's journalism department, and received the 2022 Arab Woman Award in the media category and Jordan's King Abdullah II Distinguished Medal.
