Executive Vice President of Technology and Innovation at Saudi Aramco, the role responsible for the company’s research and development portfolio and for its technology centres inside the Kingdom and abroad in the United States, Europe and Asia. A Saudi national and an engineer by training with degrees in mechanical and chemical engineering, he joined the company in the 1990s and advanced through process engineering and project development, and served as the company’s chief technology officer before his current role. His portfolio covers enhanced oil recovery research, carbon capture, utilisation and storage including the Jubail hub project, hydrogen and blue ammonia, of which the company shipped the first demonstration cargoes to Japan, low carbon fuels and high efficiency combustion engines, as well as its industrial artificial intelligence programmes.
