Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of SABIC, one of the world’s largest petrochemical companies, headquartered in Riyadh. A Saudi national and a chemical engineering graduate of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, he joined SABIC in the 1990s and advanced through operations, manufacturing and planning roles. He led the petrochemicals business as executive vice president before being appointed chief executive in 2022. His portfolio includes the company’s circular carbon programme and its 2050 carbon neutrality target, the TRUCIRCLE plastics recycling initiative, the conversion of Aramco refineries into chemical complexes under the liquids-to-chemicals programme, and the expansion of the company’s industrial footprint in China and the United States.
