President

President of WPC Energy, a Spanish engineer who has spent his career in his country’s petroleum and energy sector. He led the Spanish corporation for strategic reserves of petroleum products, the body that manages Spain’s compulsory product stocks and monitors its market, and chaired the Spanish National Committee of the council before being elected to its presidency. In that role he leads the body that selects the host country of each Congress, oversees the programme committee that sets its technical content, and represents the council before governments and international organisations as a UN-accredited non-governmental organisation. A recurring theme of his public positions is that the council should remain a neutral platform that seats producers and consumers at the same table.
