Vicki Hollub
Board Member and Retired President and CEO
Board member of Occidental Petroleum and its retired President and CEO, and the first woman to lead a major American oil company when she took the role in 2016. She began as a field engineer and worked through operations and production assignments in the United States, Venezuela and Russia before reaching the top of the company. In 2019 she led Occidental’s roughly 38 billion dollar acquisition of Anadarko Petroleum, financed in part by Berkshire Hathaway, a deal that cemented the company’s position in the Permian Basin. She is closely identified with direct air capture, and with the construction of the STRATOS facility in Texas through the company’s 1PointFive arm. At the Riyadh edition she receives WPC Energy’s Dewhurst Award, the first woman to do so. She holds a degree in mineral engineering from the University of Alabama.
