Chief Executive Officer of SLB since August 2019, the largest oilfield services company in the world. A French national, he studied electronic engineering in Grenoble and joined Schlumberger in 1987 as an engineer, moving through technical and operational roles across the Middle East, Asia and Europe. He led the Reservoir and Infrastructure business and then served as chief operating officer before his appointment as chief executive. In 2022 he led the change of the company’s name from Schlumberger to SLB, part of repositioning it as an energy technology company rather than a drilling services provider, and expanded its digital arms and data platforms as well as its work in carbon capture and storage, geothermal energy and lithium, including the major acquisition of ChampionX.
