President of the energy business at S&P Global. He has spent almost his entire career at Platts, which became part of S&P Global Commodity Insights. He began as a journalist covering oil markets and moved through editorial and pricing roles in Asia and Europe, running the company’s Singapore and London operations. He served as co-president of Commodity Insights and head of pricing and market insight, the role responsible for the benchmark methodologies used to price crude, product and LNG cargoes worldwide, including Dated Brent, against which a large share of global crude trade is settled. He led significant methodology reviews, among them the inclusion of WTI Midland delivered into Europe in the Brent basket.
