Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Baker Hughes, one of the three largest oilfield services and industrial technology companies in the world, headquartered in Houston. Born in Italy and raised in Britain, he joined General Electric in the early 1990s and rose through its industrial units to become President and CEO of GE Transportation, then took charge of GE Oil and Gas. He oversaw the 2017 combination of GE’s oil and gas arm with Baker Hughes and led the merged company, then managed its phased separation from GE through to completion. He has steered the company towards expanding its industrial energy technology business, gas turbines, and carbon capture, storage and hydrogen solutions alongside conventional oilfield services. He holds a degree in economics and accounting from Cardiff University.
