Abdelrahman Alzarie
Intellectual and developmental disabilities
Dr. Abdelrahman M. Alzarie is the Head of the Department of Special Education and an Assistant Professor at the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. He earned his Ph.D. in Special Education, with a specialization in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, from the University of South Florida (USF), USA. His research focuses on qualitative inquiry, particularly Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), with an emphasis on the lived experiences, quality of life, self-determination, and post-school education and training of adults with intellectual disabilities. In addition to leading the Department of Special Education, Dr. Alzarie has held several academic leadership positions and has contributed to curriculum development, quality assurance, innovation, and technology transfer in higher education. His work is dedicated to advancing inclusive education and promoting evidence-based practices that improve educational and life outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
