Youssef Bassim

Youssef Bassim is an orthopaedic surgeon and health information technology consultant working on digital health and artificial intelligence across Arab healthcare systems. He earned his medical degree at the American University of Beirut in 1998, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is certified as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He holds a master's in hospital and healthcare management from ESA Beirut and Universite Paris Diderot, with an emphasis on healthcare information technology, and a master's in orthopaedic and rehabilitation technology from the University of Dundee. He is chief operating officer of the University of Balamand in Lebanon and chairs the digital health transformation division of the Arab Hospitals Federation. He has practised clinically in Lebanon, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
