Sami Yusuf

Sami Yusuf leads corporate development for Mayo Clinic International and Mayo Collaborative Services, the arm behind Mayo Clinic Laboratories, coordinating, negotiating and executing the transactions that sit behind Mayo's partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions and strategic alliances outside the United States. A licensed pharmacist, he holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology and a second in molecular genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master's in biological chemistry from Purdue University, a doctorate of pharmacy from Creighton University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He began his career at Eli Lilly and Company, where he worked from 1999 to 2012 across research and development, alliance management, portfolio strategy and corporate strategy, and he held a faculty appointment at Creighton University from 2007 to 2010. He joined Mayo Clinic in 2020, and serves on the boards of the pathology technology companies Alpenglow Biosciences and Clarapath as well as on venture catalyst advisory boards.
