Wael H. Alzhrani
Director, Population Health Management
Wael Alzhrani directs population health management at Jeddah First Health Cluster, one of the clusters created under the Health Holding Company as part of Saudi Arabia's health system transformation, which serves more than 1.8 million beneficiaries through about fifty-five primary health care centres and six general and specialised hospitals. He has worked for more than a decade in preventive medicine and public health, previously as director of preventive affairs at the cluster before moving to population health management, and he holds an executive master's degree in business administration. He publishes alongside his management work: his research includes a study of adherence to COVID-19 preventive measures among residents of Jeddah conducted during the pandemic, and in 2025 he co-authored two papers on mass-gathering health at Hajj, one in Frontiers in Public Health on respiratory symptom burden, vaccination coverage and preventive practices among Sudanese pilgrims who travelled by sea, and one in the journal Vaccines on influenza vaccination and morbidity among Sudanese pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj.
