Steven Nasser

Steven Nasser is chief executive of Altair Advisory LLC and chairs the International Road Federation's Global ITS and Smart Mobility Committee, a body running task forces on artificial intelligence for predictive asset management, road adaptation to autonomous vehicles, and intelligent transport systems for climate. He has served as chief technology officer of SABER Investment Company, which he joined in 2009; the firm was co-founded in 1976 and began as a road furnishings and highway infrastructure specialist before expanding into safety, security and mobility solutions. There he led the conversion of a legacy manufacturing plant into an advanced manufacturing platform with more than fifty million dollars of capital investment, described as the first machining-as-a-service platform in the Middle East and North Africa to meet global tier one supplier standards, and created IKARIS, a systems integration and smart city division whose clients include the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi Police. He has more than fifteen years implementing smart city technologies — intelligent parking, digital signage, adaptive traffic systems, autonomous vehicles and vehicle-to-everything communication — on projects in the fifty to one hundred million dollar range. He holds a bachelor of science in manufacturing engineering from Boston University and an MBA in entrepreneurship from Babson College, and began his career as a pre-sales and post-sales engineer at Parametric Technology Corporation.
