Simon Flowers
Chairman, Energy and Chief Analyst
Chairman of Energy and Chief Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, a British research house founded in Edinburgh in 1973 that provides asset and corporate analysis across oil and gas, power and mining, and whose databases of fields and projects are references used by energy companies and banks in valuing assets. A British national and a chartered accountant by training, he has spent more than thirty years at the firm across corporate research, asset valuation and leading analytical teams. He writes a weekly editorial called The Edge summarising the firm’s reading of market shifts, one of the most widely circulated newsletters in the sector. His public commentary centres on the economics of the transition and on comparing investment returns between oil and gas projects and renewable energy projects.
