Chief Executive Officer

Saud Al Turki is a consultant vascular surgeon and fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, with a career spanning more than three decades of clinical practice, trauma education and academic leadership. He founded the Academy of Sciences for Medical Education in Riyadh in 2018 and is its chief executive; the academy delivers advanced trauma life support, cardiac and paediatric life support, prehospital trauma, clinical ultrasound and disaster preparedness courses, together with board review programmes in emergency medicine and general surgery, in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, accredited by the American College of Surgeons, the Saudi Heart Association and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He has chaired the Advanced Trauma Life Support national office in Saudi Arabia since 1991 and was the first Region 17 chief of the American College of Surgeons, covering more than twenty countries in the Middle East and North Africa. He was previously executive director of academic affairs at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, and he also heads VR Solutions, which built the Kingdom's first virtual reality medical training programmes.
