Sami Almudarra

Executive Director of Health Information

Sami Almudarra is a public health physician and epidemiologist who has led health information at the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control, part of the Gulf Health Council, since December 2021. Before that he was general supervisor of the field epidemiology training programme at the public health agency of the Saudi Ministry of Health, from 2017 to 2021. He took a postgraduate diploma in field epidemiology at the College of Medicine of King Saud University in Riyadh and a doctorate in epidemiology and public health at the School of Medicine of the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. He chairs the Saudi Epidemiology Society and sits on the preventive medicine scientific committee of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, with more than 20 years in medicine and public health.
