Salmaan Sana

Speaker, Facilitator, Consultant

Salmaan Sana is an Amsterdam-based facilitator, speaker and consultant who works with teams and organisations on frustration, belonging and connection at work, and describes himself as a process artist balancing professionalism with humanity. He studied medicine at VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, went to the European School in Bergen and later completed the altMBA. As a medical student he gave a talk at TEDxMaastricht in 2011 about losing and then recovering his reason for becoming a doctor; he went on to bring together doctors, insurers and patients to draft a Charter for Care placing compassion at the centre of healthcare, founded the human-centred care organisation Compassion for Care, and worked with the same centre to build compassion teaching into the bachelor's, master's and residency stages of medical training. He was later a senior strategist and consultant at the Dutch consultancy Better Future. He is a board member and licensee of TEDxAmsterdam, works with the School for Moral Ambition and has been involved with Treesistance, and he has led leadership journeys for the director teams of healthcare institutions.
