Reem Al Bunyan

Reem Al Bunyan is an American board-certified consultant neurologist whose subspecialty is multiple sclerosis, including the rare field of paediatric multiple sclerosis. She graduated in medicine with honours from King Faisal University in Dammam, completed a neurology residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, then trained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, in multiple sclerosis and autoimmune neurology, taking a master's degree in biomedical sciences there. She also holds a master of science in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She established the first clinical neuroimmunology programme at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh and a modern clinical neurophysiology department, founded the neurosciences centre at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, where she was executive director of medical and clinical affairs and acting chief executive. She now heads the Saudi Ministry of Health's Center for Improving Value in Health and is executive director of the G20 Global Innovation Hub for Improving Value in Health, created under the Saudi G20 presidency.
