Rashad Massoud

Head of Public Health

Rashad Massoud has spent his career applying quality improvement methods to health systems in resource constrained settings, and has worked in more than a hundred countries. He holds an MD and an MPH, is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and has taught healthcare improvement to graduate and executive students at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health since 2004, where he is president emeritus of the alumni association. He was senior vice president at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, then chief medical and quality officer at University Research Co., directing two flagship USAID programmes: the Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems project, worth 210 million dollars across 46 countries, and the Health Care Improvement project, worth 150 million across 38 countries. He later served as senior vice president and chief programme officer at Americares, founded his own advisory practice in 2023 and joined IQVIA in 2025 to lead its global and public health work. He was elected an inaugural member of the ISQua Academy and sits on the evaluation panel of an international patient safety prize.
