Malak Alghamdi
Professor and Consultant Medical Geneticist
Malak Alghamdi is a Saudi medical geneticist and academic whose clinical and research work centres on genetic neurometabolic disease, inborn errors of metabolism and the genetics of epilepsy. She earned her MBBS from King Saud University and holds Saudi and Arab Board certification in paediatrics together with Canadian certification in medical genetics, and she completed a fellowship in clinical biochemical genetics at British Columbia Children's Hospital in Canada. She established the clinical and academic medical genetics division at King Saud University Medical City and headed the medical genetics division at King Khalid University Hospital in Riyadh, and she has published on the diagnosis and management of glycogen storage diseases and rare neurogenetic disorders.
