Khalifa Elmusharaf
Director of Public Health Programs
Khalifa Elmusharaf is an associate professor in public health and director of the public health programme at the University of Birmingham Dubai. He qualified in medicine at UMST in Khartoum in 2002 and completed a PhD in public health at the National University of Ireland Galway in 2015. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health and of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal College of Physicians. He previously founded and directed the public health master's programme at the University of Limerick, lectured in epidemiology and public health medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland's Bahrain campus, and directed the reproductive and child health research unit at UMST in Sudan. He chairs the board of the Irish Global Health Network and serves on a World Health Organization technical advisory group on maternal and newborn outcome tracking.
