John Ardill
Vice President, Global Exploration
Vice President of Global Exploration at ExxonMobil, the role responsible for the company’s exploration portfolio worldwide, from basin selection and licence entry through to appraisal of discoveries and handover to development. A geologist by training, he has spent his career at ExxonMobil across exploration and development units in several regions. His tenure leading exploration has coincided with the most successful exploration phase the company has seen in decades, centred on the string of discoveries in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, whose estimated recoverable resource has passed eleven billion barrels of oil equivalent and turned Guyana into a rising oil producer, alongside the company’s exploration work in Cyprus, Angola, Brazil and Namibia.
