Indranil Ghosh is an editor at Rest of World covering global electric mobility and the Middle East and North Africa. Rest of World is a non-profit international technology news publication reporting on how technology is built and used outside the Western world, across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. He joined it in March 2025 as Middle East and Africa editor, a newly created position, arriving from The National in Abu Dhabi, where he had been deputy foreign editor since 2021, overseeing a team of more than forty reporters and editors covering Gaza, the conflict in Sudan and the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan. Before that he spent more than twenty years at Bloomberg in editorial roles covering technology and business, based across Hong Kong, India and Singapore. His 2026 reporting includes pieces on Chinese carmakers taking over European factories that Ford and Nissan could not fill, on China and the West diverging over electric vehicle battery recycling, and on electric vehicles escaping oil but not the Strait of Hormuz. He lives in Abu Dhabi and speaks English, Hindi and Bengali.
