Feras Alshomer

Director, Lymphedema Program

Feras Alshomer is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who directs the lymphedema programme at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh. He trained in plastic surgery under the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and completed a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery, supermicrosurgery and lymphedema reconstruction at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. He practises within the division of plastic surgery at King Abdulaziz Medical City and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, and his clinical work covers lymphatic surgery, lymphaticovenous anastomosis and lymph-sparing liposuction guided by indocyanine green lymphography. He publishes in peer-reviewed plastic surgery and microsurgery journals on lymphedema and lipedema, and appears in Arabic media explaining how the two conditions differ.
