Fatemah AlShamlan is a Saudi ophthalmologist who leads the transformation office at King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, having previously worked in its clinical services leadership and at Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital. Her published research is in paediatric ophthalmology and public eye health, and includes studies on myopia progression among schoolchildren with prolonged screen time during coronavirus confinement, the efficacy of amblyopia treatment in anisometropia, dose increments of botulinum toxin A in childhood esotropia, and causes of blindness among children in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. She also contributed to a systematic review of the World Health Organization package of eye care interventions and its outcomes for universal eye health coverage.
