Fares Saad
Infection Prevention and Control Director
Fares Saad has led infection prevention and control programmes across four Saudi healthcare institutions. He earned his bachelor of medicine and surgery at Misr University for Science and Technology in Egypt and a master's degree in infection prevention and control at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, and completed a competency programme in infection control at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, where he also worked. He went on to Security Forces Hospital in Makkah and Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group in Riyadh, before joining Anfas Medical Care in 2020 as its infection prevention and control director. He holds the Advanced Leadership Certification in Infection Prevention from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, and his responsibilities extend into quality improvement and patient and staff safety. Anfas is a Riyadh long term care hospital built around patients with chronic pulmonary conditions who need mechanical ventilation, and also provides intensive care, renal dialysis, respiratory therapy, physiotherapy, radiology, laboratory services, home care and a training centre.
