Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ExxonMobil since January 2017. An American national, he holds an electrical engineering degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He joined the company in 1992 as a planning analyst and moved through refining, marketing and chemicals assignments in the United States, Asia and Europe before becoming President of Refining and Supply and then President of the company. His tenure has included the largest deal in the company’s modern history, the roughly sixty billion dollar acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources, and the creation of a Low Carbon Solutions business focused on carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and biofuels, alongside major expansion in Guyana and the Permian Basin.
