Daniel Yergin

Vice Chairman

Vice Chairman of S&P Global, and one of the best known historians and analysts of the energy industry. He won the Pulitzer Prize for The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money and Power, which chronicled a century and a half of oil history and was adapted into a documentary series. His other books include The Commanding Heights on the contest between state and market, The Quest on energy security and the remaking of the modern world, and The New Map on energy, climate and the clash of nations. In 1983 he founded Cambridge Energy Research Associates, later part of S&P Global, and created the annual CERAWeek conference in Houston, which has become one of the most significant gatherings in the global energy sector. He holds a doctorate from the University of Cambridge.
