Asma Al-Muhsin

Deputy General Manager

Asma Al-Muhsin is a deputy general manager at the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, the government body that sets national health policy, regulates the sector and oversees the delivery of preventive and curative services across the Kingdom, and which remains the country's largest provider of health care. The ministry is the lead agency for the Health Sector Transformation Programme under Vision 2030, which is reorganising service delivery around regional health clusters and a model of care weighted towards prevention and primary care rather than hospital treatment alone. Its remit covers national immunisation and screening programmes, communicable disease surveillance and outbreak response, the licensing and supervision of health facilities, and digital services including the Sehhaty application and the 937 medical consultation centre, through which appointments, results and remote consultations are delivered to the public.
