Ammar Alhogbani

Professional Tennis Player

Ammar Alhogbani was born in Riyadh on 15 December 1998, moved to the United States at the age of three and grew up in Ohio and Virginia. He played college tennis at the University of Virginia, winning an NCAA team championship in his first year, before committing to the professional tour full time. His career-high ATP singles ranking of 1,080 came on 15 December 2025, and his career-high doubles ranking of 1,631 in July 2025. He first played the Asian Games at fifteen in 2014, and at the 2023 games he lost to Zhang Zhizhen 7-5, 6-2 and partnered his sister Yara in the first Saudi mixed doubles pairing to compete there. He represents Saudi Arabia in the Davis Cup, where he holds a win-loss record of 28-6, and has played on the same team as his younger brother Saud, a college player at Wake Forest. Before returning to full-time competition he worked as national teams development officer at the Saudi Tennis Federation, and has said he wants to see Saudi tennis reach the highest level and more events staged in the kingdom.
