Ahmad Turko
Head of Surgery Department
Ahmad Turko heads the surgery department at Kingdom Hospital & Consulting Clinics, a private hospital that began providing services in March 2000 in the Al Rabie quarter on Takhassusi Street in northern Riyadh. He appears in the hospital's own physician directory twice, once under general surgery and once under haemorrhoid and anorectal surgery. The department he leads spans colon and rectal surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, liver and bile duct surgery, an obesity surgery centre, diabetic foot and chronic wound care, neurosurgery, peripheral vascular surgery and plastic surgery, the last covering both cosmetic procedures and reconstruction after burns, trauma and congenital conditions. A substantial share of the department's caseload is handled laparoscopically, through small incisions that the hospital says shorten inpatient stays, reduce pain and speed the return to normal life, alongside conventional open operations and the outpatient consulting clinics attached to the hospital, which also has paediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, a pain centre and a rehabilitation and physiotherapy unit.
