Ahmad Omar Hawsawi

Chief Nursing Officer

Ahmad Omar Hawsawi has spent more than three decades in nursing and is chief nursing officer at Saudi German Hospital Jeddah, overseeing nursing across the hospital and affiliated facilities including Al Zahra Hospital, Hay Aljamea Hospital and Beverly Clinics. The Jeddah hospital announced that it became the first and only hospital outside the United States to earn Magnet Recognition with Distinction, the nursing excellence credential awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He holds a master of nursing from Monash University in Australia and a master of bioethics from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, is completing doctoral study in nursing, and is a graduate of the senior executive leadership programme at Harvard Business School. He is a fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a certified global nurse consultant. His work covers nursing administration, quality improvement, patient safety culture and workforce development, and he speaks at regional meetings including the Patient Experience Congress in Jeddah.
