Public Health & Preventive Medicine Consultant, General Director in Population Health Deputyship
Ahmad ALKhorisi is a consultant in public health and preventive medicine whose specialism is mass gathering and disaster medicine, and who holds an executive master's degree alongside his clinical training. He serves as general director of the General Department of Policies and Government Communication within the Population Health Deputyship at the Saudi Ministry of Health in Riyadh, the arm of the ministry responsible for population level health policy, prevention and health promotion across the Kingdom. Before that he was a general supervisor at the Public Health Operations Centre, the unit that carries out surveillance of health events nationally and coordinates the response to them, and earlier in his career he worked with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the national emergency medical services provider. He has contributed to published research on strengthening health monitoring systems during the Hajj, one of the largest recurring mass gatherings in the world and among the most demanding settings for public health planning and risk assessment.
