Abdulrahman Bamalan

Chief Operating Officer

Abdulrahman Bamalan is chief operating officer of Mukatafa, the Riyadh-based advocacy and policy organisation founded in 2018 that works between the Saudi private and public sectors, reviewing and developing policy, establishing and running industry associations, organising events, and aligning private sector activity with Vision 2030. Mukatafa signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Economy and Planning to analyse private sector challenges and opportunities in the Kingdom. Trained as an engineer, Bamalan holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and an MBA, both from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and has completed executive programmes at Cambridge, Harvard Business School, MIT and the London School of Economics. He previously worked with the Global Compact Network Saudi Arabia, and his career spans the private, public and nonprofit sectors.
