Abdulaziz Alhomod

Abdulaziz Alhomod is an emergency physician and medical informatician who was part of the leadership that launched SEHA Virtual Hospital, the Saudi Ministry of Health's virtual hospital in Riyadh, serving as its medical director and deputy executive director. He is board certified in emergency medicine and in clinical informatics and is a fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association. He trained in the United States at Baylor College of Medicine, working at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub Hospital, and completed a research fellowship and a master's degree in biomedical informatics at Oregon Health & Science University, where between 2017 and 2019 he worked on projects including a large-scale accountable care and population management system. His published research deals with the safer use of technology in clinical care.
