Zergham Zia (MBBS, MRCP, FRCR, CCT) is chairman of radiology and consultant interventional radiologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Jeddah, where he oversees strategic operations for one of the region's most advanced tertiary care radiology departments. He was previously a consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, and a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham. His clinical specialism is hepatobiliary and vascular intervention, and he is a prominent advocate for the clinical integration of artificial intelligence, with a focus on how machine learning can optimise workflows and improve outcomes in high-acuity, high-volume environments. He publishes in the peer-reviewed radiology literature and is among the co-authors of research on the use of artificial intelligence to simplify radiology reports in Arabic and its effect on patient comprehension and clinical safety.
