Amna Kashgari

Section Head, Translational Radiology Science

Amna Kashgari is a consultant radiologist based in Riyadh, specialising in paediatric radiology and paediatric neuroradiology, with more than twelve years of experience. She is Section Head for Translational Radiology Science at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, a section that brings together artificial intelligence innovation, three-dimensional printing, virtual reality and research, and she is an assistant professor of radiology at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. Her career has been built around education and professional leadership: she has served as a radiology residency training programme director and as secretary general of the Radiological Society of Saudi Arabia, sat on the scientific committees of local and regional conferences, directed radiology courses and seminars, and spoken at local, regional and international meetings. She is an author and co-author of peer-reviewed articles, including multicentre work on the epidemiology and outcomes of neurofibromatosis type 1, and she lectures on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in medical imaging and on its failure modes. Her stated aim is to deliver high-standard educational tools in artificial intelligence for radiology so that radiologists, technologists and students are prepared for changing diagnostic technology, and to see the technology used to improve diagnostic accuracy, patient outcomes and clinical workflow.
