General Director of Monitoring Networks

Eng. Amer Bamoneef is General Director of Monitoring Networks at the National Center for Environmental Compliance, leading the central unit that gathers and processes the Kingdom's environmental monitoring data around the clock. He oversees a network of 240 air quality stations across most Saudi cities, measuring 22 air components and sampling quality indicators every five minutes. He led the national project to connect air quality stations operated by public and private bodies to the centre's central network, beginning with fifteen stations run by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones. On the marine side he oversees a monitoring system of 28 smart buoys across the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf measuring salinity, temperature and oxygen and transmitting live data by satellite, alongside drones and camera-equipped smart submersibles that survey the seabed and detect pollutants. His team includes Saudi technicians, air quality specialists and experts in numerical modelling and satellite data.
